Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Headphones
Audio Technica AD700 Audiophile Headphones Review

Let's go over these headphones from Audio Technica, the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Headphones.

Never heard of Audio Technica? Neither have I!

It's a corporation established in 1962 in Tokyo, Japan and they mainly make wireless mics, headphones and other audio equipment.

If you aren't a musician and haven't heard of them, don't sweat it, now you know.

Considering this, you can expect a product of high quality when it comes to the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 'Open-air dynamic audiophile headphones'.

Sounds great if you are an audiophile (audio = sound; phile = affection) then you will possibly consider these headphones, but let us take a look at various reviews on these headphones to make sure you are getting what you are paying for, as they aren't cheap at $90.

Build

Audio Technica ATH-AD700
The build of the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 headphones makes them look pretty bulky, but they are quite comfortable to wear according to many users, even though (or perhaps because) they go over the entirety of your ears, rather than just sit upon them. The earpieces are soft and feel great on your ears.

The frame of these is lightweight and the aluminum casing and magnesium frame structure are flexible. No worries about having these prick or push too much.

The wires to each earpiece are hidden within the frame of the headphones which in my humble opinion is just fantastic!

This way, if you somehow pull on it or tug on it a little too much or end up stepping on it in the worst case, you won't be breaking them or lose hearing in one earpiece. The thick and long cable is also a great addition.

The design of the headphones itself is pretty to look at and is actually quite strong, even though it looks quite fragile.

It may also be a little loose to some, it may slide off occasionally and one person resorted to placing a rubber-band or hair-tie to connect the 'wings' of the headphones to make sure they don't fall off.

If all else fails, try out these methods of securing their position on your head.

The design of the headphones may also allow too much noise from outside to 'leak' in whilst playing. This is common with open-ear headphones but you will still be able to hear your music as long as there are not too many disturbances around you.

Sound

The sound quality of the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 headphones is excellent and it hits the higher and lower tunes just right. The sounds are emitted clearly and you can enjoy every note with these headphones.

The bass is great but not over the top which you can alter if you so wish either with an equalizer or an amplifier. If bass is important to you, then you will have no other choice than to go with an amplifier of some sort as the bass is not as strong as it could or should be.

Other than that it sounds very good on all other ranges. There seems to be no limit to higher or lower tunes, as it transmits sounds clearly and efficiently, although higher tunes may seem to some as too high, but that is opt to personal opinions as not everyone's ears are the same.

All in All

The Audio Technica ATH-AD700 headphones are great, comfortable, light, with clear and detailed sound, great for gaming and for its price-range (<$200) they are excellent.
