Zune not recognized by computer
(Vancouver, BC, Canada)
My Zune will not connect to my PC. I'm using Windows Vista.
I have followed the troubleshooting steps both on your page and Microsoft's.
So here's some other facts...
-Zune is not listed under portable devices, nor are portable devices listed for that matter
-My USB ports are functional
-I have the latest software updates
-I have reinstalled the software as well
In addition, currently my Zune will not even play anything. So even if I wanted to erase all partitions and start from scratch, I can't cause I can't connect.
PLEASE HELP! I am going mad!
Can you please tell me which the model of your Zune? Also, is your Vista OS 32-bit or 64-bit?
As a first step let's make sure your driver is updated and functional. Please go to C:\Program Files\Zune\Drivers\Zune. Do you see a Zune.inf file?
If so, please right click and select Install. This should reinstall the driver.
Please also send me the list of files you have in this directory.
Once we have this information add a comment to this page and we can figure out what to do next.
