Zune Parts
Replace your Zune battery, hard drive and more!

Did you know that Zune parts are available to replace just about anything in your Zune?

Do you have a cracked LCD screen?

Is your Zune battery reaching the end of it's life?

Do you want to increase the capacity of your Zune hard drive?

You can do all of these things and more with parts available from Rapid Repair.

Warning: Before you go around tinkering with your Zune, you should know that once you open it you can kiss your warranty goodbye. (Which is probably ok since it is valid for only a year anyways.)

Most Zune parts are flagged with a "moderate level of difficulty to install" warning. This means you probably have to use a soldering iron to install that part. If this makes you uncomfortable (or you don't know what a soldering iron is) you should probably go for the professional installation.

If you do plan to install the parts yourself, you'll need some special tools like a T-4 star driver, triwing driver and nylon safe open case tools. These tools are specialized and not something you'll find in your average toolbox. So just in case you don't already own them, you can buy them from Rapid Repair.

Rapid Repair also provides Zune disassembly guides for the do-it-yourself person.

Zune Battery

The battery is probably the most common part that needs replacing. There are two Zune battery options available at Rapid Repair which are worth mentioning.

The first is the Platinum battery service (or Lifetime battery). For $39.99, Rapid Repair will replace your Zune battery every year for the life of your Zune. The average Zune battery has a lifespan of about 500 cycles so this is a great option for heavy Zune users.

The second is the eXtended life Zune battery. This is an aftermarket battery that increases the battery capacity by 30%. And it costs only $19.99.

One more thing before I forget. If you do choose to install your part and realize it's too difficult, you can ship your opened Zune to Rapid Repair and they will complete the installation for you.
