Zune software on PC will not start after update

by A Lozano
(Houston TX)

I performed a software update on my desktop. I received a message that my computer needs to be restarted so changes can take affect. I restarted but computer hung, so I shut it off and restarted Windows with the last known configuration that worked.

Now, the software keeps stating i need to restart my computer so updates will take affect. I tried restarting numerous time and get the same message.

Answer:

Rebooting your computer during an update is a dangerous thing. It's possible that you've corrupted something.

However, the first thing you should try is searching for a file called "zunereboot" on your PC. Delete this file and see if that fixes your problem.

Given the state of your PC, after that I would still uninstall and reinstall the Zune software just to make sure everything is fine and up to date.

See this post for more details.
